Selena Gomez’s boyfriend Benny Blanco gets escorted off the 2024 Emmys red carpet

Selena Gomez and her new boyfriend Benny Blanco made their red carpet debut at the 2024 Emmy Awards on Monday, though they ran into a bit of a snag.

The 31-year-old actress and singer – who was considered one of the Emmys’ Best Dressed – confirmed in December that she’s in a relationship with the 35-year-old record producer.

However their red carpet debut hit a bit of a snag, when Blanco (born Benjamin Joseph Levin) was escorted off the red carpet.

Blanco’s removal was captured on video by E! Instagram, though there is no audio and it is still not immediately clear what caused him to be escorted out.

Blanco was seen wearing a dark blue trench coat under a grey ensemble, standing next to Gomez before she was about to walk the red carpet.

The 31-year-old actress and singer – who was considered one of the Emmys’ Best Dressed – confirmed in December that she’s in a relationship with the 35-year-old record producer.

The producer was seen standing off to the side while his girlfriend was getting ready, wearing a stunning Oscar de la Renta dress.

Blanco was seen saying something to Gomez as she walked towards the red carpet, as the camera went back to him, showing him blowing kisses to her.

Shortly after blowing kisses to Gomez, he was seen reacting to something someone off-camera said, as the camera panned over to Gomez.

When the camera panned back to Blanco, he was seen being escorted out of the area, though Blanco didn’t appear to be upset.

Another video from E! showed Selena and Benny chatting with Aubrey Plaza in what seemed to be the same area he was escorted from.

Gomez did do the red carpet by herself, though the pair were seen entering the venue together and photographed at their seats together.

Her show Only Murders in the Building is up for Best Comedy Series, Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Martin Short), and Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series (Nathan Lane), among a number of other categories.

Her documentary, My Mind and Me, is also up for Outstanding Writing For A Nonfiction Program.

Last week Selena shared a snap of herself kissing Benny, while wearing the dress she had on at the Golden Globes.

While she may not have taken home the trophy for best performance by a female actor in a television series, comedy or musical, for her role of Mabel Mora in Only Murders in the Building, the superstar assured her followers that she was more than satisfied with her love life.

‘I won,’ she captioned an intimate photo of herself and Benny sharing a passionate kiss.

Gomez will next be seen in Emilia Perez with Zoe Saldana and Edgar Ramirez, which is in post-production.
