She’s gearing up to headline the FOMO Festival in Parramatta.
And Lizzo (real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson) was all smiles as she touched down at Sydney Airport on Monday ahead of her first ever Australian tour.
Going makeup free for her flight, the 31-year-old rapper was happy to greet fans as she strolled through the arrivals terminal.
The Good as Hell hitmaker dressed down in a white Gucci sweater, black bike shorts and sneakers.
She completed her look with a Fendi handbag and a pair of bejewelled sunglᴀsses.
At one stage, Lizzo gave a male fan a moment he won’t soon forget by posing for a selfie with him.
Flanking the superstar was a burly-looking security guard, who shooed away several overzealous fans.
Aside from her scheduled performance at FOMO Festival, Lizzo is also set to play the Sydney Opera House on January 6 and The Forum in Melbourne on January 8.
The sighting comes just hours after Lizzo took to Instagram to voice her heartbreak over the bushfire crisis in Australia.
On Sunday, she pleaded with her 7.2 million – mostly American – followers to help.
Clutching a toy koala, she said: ‘Being over here in Australia has really given me a real time view into what’s happening with these devastating fires and for all of my followers who are mostly American, I just want to say that this is a global crisis.
‘I don’t want to politicise anything. This isn’t a political issue at this point, this is a human issue.’
Lizzo has been making waves in the music industry ever since the release of her debut album, Lizzobangers, in 2013.
She released her second album, Big Grrrl Small World, in 2015, and reached mainstream success with 2019’s Cuz I Love You.
Lately, she has also been making a name for herself as a fashion icon, attending last year’s prestigious Met Gala in New York City.
