“Too much nostalgia,” Serena Williams could just make a ‘pumped’ comeback!

Serena Williams penned a nostalgic tweet recently and many fans have taken it as a hint and think that the 42-year-old might make a comeback soon. Some fans have also suggested that she can come back to at least play doubles if she wishes.

Serena is hands-down the most successful women’s tennis player of all time. She won 23 Grand Slam singles titles throughout her career, which is the second most ever by any woman in the sport and any tennis player ever, irrespective of gender, after Novak Djokovic and Margaret Court. She also won 23 WTA 1000 singles titles, which is also the highest ever.

In September 2022, Serena Williams finally retired after playing the US Open, which was her last tournament ever. In her last tournament, she reached the third round, where she lost to Ajla Tomljanović. It was an emotional moment for sure, as the American was ending her career after an illustrious career that spanned almost three decades.

Maybe that is why fans got excited at the slightest hint of Serena’s comeback. She recently shared on X that she got nostalgic and highly pumped while listening to her tennis pre-match playlist while working out.

To this fans have replied that it was time for her to come back as the legend was clearly missing the heat.

Serena Williams is happily spending time with her family currently

Serena Williams gave birth to her second child, a daughter, in August 2023 and named her Adira River Ohanian. She married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian back in 2019 and has been leading a happy married life since then. They welcomed their first daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., right before their marriage.

The Williams-Ohanian household seems to be complete now. Serena Williams prefers to give time to her family now and combined with that, the fact that she is now 42-years-old, makes it highly impractical to think that she will make a comeback.

However, there’s no harm for the fans to keep praying for the same. After all, it is indeed nostalgic and many Serena fans wish that they could re-witness her majestic career all over again.
