However, the sequel has still racked up an impressive number of awards and nominations from other prestigious organizations, so an Oscar would only add to the film’s stellar trophy shelf. Across the Spider-Verse has been nominated for a total of 78 awards. A majority of these awards have been for achievements in animation, music, or sound. There are also several that have celebrated the voice-over work from the film, especially for Hailee Steinfeld, Shameik Moore, Daniel Kaluuya, and Brian Tyree Henry. A few of the notable nominations came from the Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Awards, Annie Awards, and PGA Awards.

The film was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 96th Academy Awards. Across the Spider-Verse does have a solid chance at winning, but its biggest competitor is The Boy and the Heron, which won the Golden Globe for the same category. It will be interesting to see if the Academy chooses Across the Spider-Verse or Hayao Miyazaki’s latest film.
