Are Tom Holland and Zendaya broken up, or is it another celebrity social media gimmick?
The Spider-Man actor put the breakup rumors firmly to bed this week after his long-term girlfriend Zendaya went on an unfollowing spree. Fans noticed on January 3 that the Euphoria actor unfollowed everyone on Instagram — including her boyfriend Tom Holland.
While most people assumed this was probably some sort of promo for an upcoming project (as celebrities are sometimes known to do, for some reason), TomDaya fans were feeling a bit worried.
But Holland commented on the speculation, in a rare direct address about their relationship. The actor was being followed by a TMZ photographer on Friday when he was asked about the rumors that he and Zendaya had broken up.
“No, absolutely not,” Holland firmly said.
Well, that’s that!

Why did Zendaya unfollow everyone on Instagram? Who’s to say, really? She did take to IG to promote her upcoming movie, Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers, unveiling the official poster for the film just two days before wiping her following list clean. Other stars have been known to not follow anyone on social media. Beyoncé, Adele, Billie Eilish, and Olivia Rodrigo all follow zero accounts on Instagram.
The beloved couple has only recently opened up about their relationship — but has still kept things relatively quiet. Since going public with their relationship, Tom Holland has occasionally been known to gush over his talented girlfriend in interviews and on Instagram. He has also commented on her posts with the heart-eye emoji — as any good boyfriend would do.
Zendaya and Tom Holland have been romantically linked since 2021 when the Spider-Man: No Way Home co-stars were spotted sharing an off-screen kiss. They’ve worked closely together since 2016 and were friends first. But since getting together, they’ve walked red carpets together and have been seen being adorable out and about. Thankfully, they’re still together.
