During an interview, Serena Williams discloses her interest in releasing more films about her life.
United States – Serena Williams, in an interview with Insider, indicated that she is not opposed to a sequel to King Richard. The tennis star expressed her interest in bringing the story of herself and her sister to the big screen.
There is still much to tell about Serena’s life and her journey to success, as it is undoubtedly different from what her sister has experienced.
While King Richard had a perfect ending with Venus in the game, Serena mentioned, “Venus is going in her direction, and I am going in my direction. They are two completely different stories.” However, reliving those stages could be challenging for Serena.
“I had a tough journey. I didn’t do well, and then I did. It’s a lot of drama. It’s a soap opera,” she stated.
The film’s story is based on the life of Richard Williams (Will Smith), an unwavering father who played a crucial role in raising Venus Williams (Saniyya Sidney) and Serena Williams (Demi Singleton), “two extraordinarily talented athletes who ended up changing the sport of tennis forever. Driven by a clear vision of their future and using unconventional methods, Richard has a plan that will take Venus and Serena from the streets of Compton, California, to the world stage,” as described by Deadline.
