Over the course of Steve Burton’s run(s) as Jason on General Hospital, the character has had many loves, from Karen and Keesha as a youngster to Robin and Sam to Elizabeth and Courtney. But now that he’s back from the dead — for a third time if you count the period when we thought Drew had raised him from the grave! — the direction in which he’s going to move, romantically speaking, is clear: With Britt pushing up daisies, the lucky lady will be… Carly.

Think about it. To whom did Jason turn when he needed a hand after being shot? Carly. Who was the first person to whom he revealed himself? Carly. Who was he sure would hide him from the authorities if need be (and it some hiding was necessary!)? Carly.

“She would die for him,” portrayer Laura Wright tells Soap Opera Digest. And there is so much unfinished business between the ex-lovers. Before he “croaked,” they’d rediscovered their old feelings for one another after entering into a marriage of convenience to protect the Mob while it was Sonny’s turn to play dead. Now Carly’s marriage to the godfather is so long over that he’s hooking up with Jason’s brother, Drew. And while Stone Cold might be reluctant to break up his bestie’s relationship, he’s unlikely to consider his twin’s romance so untouchable.
