Adele took a moment in her Las Vegas show to pay tribute to late actor Matthew Perry following his “shocking” death Saturday.
“I’ll remember that character for the rest of my life,” the “Hello” singer said of the “Friends” star — who played Chandler Bing in the hit show — in a video posted to X Saturday night.
Perry died in his Los Angeles home from an apparent drowning. He was 54.
The “Someone Like You” songstress — who has previously shared she is alcohol-free — also hit on Perry’s struggle with drug and alcohol addiction.
“He was so open with his struggles with addiction and sobriety,” she said to the crowd. “Which I think is incredibly, incredibly brave.”

Adele, 35, praised the late comedian for bringing “so much joy” to her life despite only knowing Perry from his time on the screen.
She also noted how Perry’s character became a staple in her childhood, with one of her friends doing “the best Chandler impression.”
“And he would do it all the time to make us laugh. And if any of us were having a bad day or feeling low, he would just pretend to be Chandler,” the singer recalled.

“And yeah, I just wanna say how much I love what he did for all of us. Especially what he did for me,” Adele said in conclusion.
“One of the best comedic characters of all time. And hopefully, now, he can rest in peace.”
In Melbourne, Australia, Charlie Puth also took a moment out of his concert to pay tribute to the actor.
In a video posted to TikTok, the “We Don’t Talk Anymore” singer had the arena-filled crowd singing the “Friends” theme-song as he played the piano, transitioning to a snippet of his heart-wrenching song “See You Again.”
An official cause of death has not yet been released.
Many stars, fans and friends have reacted to news of the actor’s sudden death since news broke Saturday.
While details surrounding Perry’s cause of death are still widely unknown, TMZ reported Saturday that no foul play was suspected.
On Sunday, law enforcement sources told the outlet that various prescription drugs were found at Perry’s home, including anti-depressants, anti-anxiety and COPD medications. Illegal drugs, however, were not found in his home.
