Tom Cruise leaves fans stunned as he lands on a golf course in a helicopter

TOM Cruise fans were left wondering if they had ended up on a movie set yesterday after the star landed in a helicopter on a London golf course.

The Mission Impossible star stopped play as he made his jaw-dropping entrance at the ninth hole before jumping out and heading to lunch.

Wearing dark clothes, a baseball cap and a black face mask, Tom was barely recognisable as he strode across the grass.

But word soon got around the stunned amateur golfers that they were in Hollywood A-list company.

While Tom, 58, dined in Richmond Golf Club’s exclusive Grade-I listed clubhouse, many flocked around the helicopter for selfies.

A source said: “Locals were amazed when Tom landed on the fairway.”

Tom returned to the UK at the beginning of June after a change in lockdown restrictions meant filming for Mission Impossible 7 could resume.

The seventh instalment in the hugely successful franchise was one of the first to be hit by delays caused by Covid-19, when its Venice film set was shut by the Italian government.

But now back on set at an abandoned RAF base in rural Oxfordshire, Tom is making himself at home.

Earlier this month, Tom was spotted in the same helicopter as he flew close to where the movie is being filmed.

The Top Gun star is famed for doing his own stunts and was seen circling over farmland in the depths of the English county.

Tom has also been busy practising his motocross stunts too.

The seventh instalment of the Mission Impossible franchise is yet to be given a title and the plot is still shrouded in mystery.

It is due for release in 2021 and sees the return of comedy star Simon Pegg, 50, as tech guru Benji and stunning Rebecca Ferguson, 36, as killer-turned-helper Ilsa Faust.
