Does this imply that he doesn’t ever take off his suit?
A keen-eyed fan of The Boys has noticed a missing element, or rather a hidden detail, in Homelander’s outfit that has us wondering about some aspects of the Supe.
Homelander’s suit had a turned-down flap in the first two episodes of season 1 that showed off the red insert of his costume; however, in subsequent seasons, he wore the flap closed. The fan has raised the question of what holds his costume together if there are no buttons or velcro on the inside of the cover. Even worse, is he ever going to take off his suit if the stitching is the only thing keeping it together?
The fan took to Reddit to discuss the detail asking “How does the flap on Homelander’s suit close with no buttons or velcro?” to which many replied stating that they think the suit is magnetic, “I think it is magnetic if I remember correctly from a blooper I saw where he was messing with it,” said another fan.
What else may be keeping Homelander’s outfit together, though, was a topic of much amusement for many users. “Willpower,” one fan speculated, while another added, “The sheer amount of American patriotism keeps it in place.” A person even went so far as to comment, “Sticky milk residue,” alluding to that particular scene from season 2. That mental picture, now that we might have done without.
