On Monday, the 25-year-old Texan native revealed a prominent scar on her inner her right thigh, obtained during a second emergency procedure that followed her 2017 kidney transplant.

Selena, who underwent a kidney transplant in September last year, first showcased her sizable surgery scar while holidaying in Mexico in December.

Selena’s actress BFF Francia Raisa gave her one of her kidneys last year, during the singer’s battle with lupus.

Though the scar shown on Selena’s leg is believed to be from a second, emergency operation on one of her arteries that immediately followed the transplant.

As it is now understood, Selena was rushed back into surgery to have a vein removed from her right inner thigh to build a new artery to help stabilize the overactive kidney.

Selena’s holiday comes one week after reports surfaced that Selena and Justin had ended their relationship.

Selena and Justin – who dated on and off from 2011 to 2015 – got back together in November and were inseparable until March.

It has been claimed the Hands To Myself hitmaker is ‘taking time to herself’ away from the spotlight in a bid to come to terms with the split and reconcile her relationship with her mother, who was blamed for the break-up.

‘She is taking time to herself,’ a source told ET. ‘This is not the first time she has done this.’

Gomez’s most recent run in ‘the spotlight has been tough — especially with the interest in her personal life with Justin and her mother,’ Mandy Teefey, who has been standoffish regarding her daughter’s reunion with the music superstar, the source said.

‘Selena is very delicate,’ the source said. ‘She wants to repair her relationship with her mother, that’s a priority for her, too.

‘She needs to figure out how to live the life she wants in the spotlight – if that’s even possible.’
