Chelsea make £51m offer for player, but his club think they can get even more for him
Bringing in young players has been a key theme at Chelsea since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took over the club.
The Blues did not sign anyone in the January transfer window, but last summer, they bought the likes of Romeo Lavia and Angelo, for example.
Lavia arrived at Stamford Bridge as a 19-year-old, while Angelo is now that age.
The former has played just one game this season because of injury and will not feature again.

Chelsea make £51m offer
Another talented young player could also sign for Chelsea soon, but he will not come cheap.
Despite needing to be cautious of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, the Blues still look ready to spend big.
According to journalist Jorge Nicola, who has been speaking on YouTube, Chelsea have made a €60m (£51m) offer for Palmeiras’ Estevao Willian.
That is already a huge amount of money for a 16-year-old, but it looks like the Blues may have to up it because Nicola has also claimed that Palmeiras believe that his price can still go up.
Should Chelsea really be making a £51m offer for Estevao Willian?
With so much noise being made about profit and sustainability, no. Chelsea really need to keep an eye on their expenditure now.
Estevao is still only 16. He would not even be able to play for Chelsea next season because of FIFA regulations. And even if he could, when you look at Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad, it is quite clear that the Argentine could do with a bit more experience right now.
Of course, they will not want an exciting talent like Estevao to get away; it has already happened with Endrick. But the Brazilian really should not be a priority for the club at this moment in time.
