Journalist Hernan Castillo has now stated that one Chelsea player is set to undergo surgery in the coming hours.
He took to Twitter to state that the pain they are playing through has become too great to deal with, and action is now required.
Chelsea have been hit badly with injuries this season, and this has clearly had an effect on an under-pressure Mauricio Pochettino’s ability to manage.

One position he has hardly been able to rotate is central midfield, with long-term problems for the likes of Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu.
However, this has almost certainly had an effect on those who have had to feature there for consecutive matches, with Enzo Fernandez feeling the brunt of this.

It has been reported that he is playing through immense pain right now, even having to miss a match recently due to discomfort.
Now, it seems it has gotten to a stage where he has had to make a decision based on the future, and take action.
Castillo tweeted late last night that he was set to undergo surgery today, potentially putting an end to his playing time this season.
He said: “Breaking news: Enzo Fernández will have surgery tomorrow for an inguinal hernia because the discomfort he suffers is great. His idea is to be recovered to play the Copa América.”
The Argentine has seen the quality in his displays slip in recent weeks, potentially suggesting that surgery could be the best option at this late stage of the season.
Pochettino should at least feel buoyed that he has seen one of the best midfield performances of the whole season from his only two fit remaining players.
Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher dominated the middle of the park recently against Everton in the Premier League, and it looks as if the duo will be crucial in them pushing to qualify for Europe from now on.
