Scarlett Johansson garnered critical acclaim playing blonde bombshell Cristina in the award winning drama, Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
But Sophie Monk has revealed on the 2day FM breakfast show, that Woody Allen approached her first to play the role in the 2008 hit film.
The 34-year-old even said that the famous director believed she was ‘a bit Nicole Kidman’ but because she couldn’t charge her phone in time to call him back, that he then went ahead and cast The Avenger’s star Scarlett instead.

Speaking to her co-hosts Jules Lund and Merrick Watts on Friday morning, the singer, actress, model and radio presenter explained that she could have been a famous film star by now if she had been quicker to charge her phone and return his call.
I’ve got the worst one [story] when my phone died. I could be a massive move star right now,’ she said.
‘Woody Allen was ringing me for a film. Not kidding you.’

The blonde beauty, who has had a few acting jobs in her time, including a part on Entourage in 2007, added: ‘He thought that I was a bit Nicole Kidman – obviously watched me with the sound down in a movie.
‘They cast it and I didn’t get to charge it. I wont watch it… it was Scarlett Johansson or something.
‘By the time I charged it, I spoke to him he said: “I’ve already done it but it was nice to meet you”.

‘I was like: “Oh no”!’
She added: ‘That was back when people didn’t know if I was a good or bad actress.
‘I would have got it.’
Along with Scarlett, the film – which was later won a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – also starred Penelope Cruz as Maria Elena and Javier Bardem as Juan Antonio Gonzalo.
