FANS believe that Tanga Loa may have already blown his return to the WWE.
The 40-year-old was previously signed to the promotion between 2009 and 2014.
The referee appeared to start dragging himself out of the ring
Tanga Loa then finished the job
Having last wrestled for NJPW in March, Loa made a surprise appearance on last night’s Backlash show in France.
The Hawaiian helped Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga defeat Kevin Owens and Randy Orton.
As part of the sequence, Loa had to pull the referee out of the ring.
In footage circulating online, another angle shows that the referee actually pulled himself out, with Loa looking a beat late.
Sharing the video clip of the alternative angle, one WWE fan wrote alongside a series of crying emojis: “Nahhh there’s not way Tanga Loa is botching already bro, they ref had to pull HIMSELF out of the ring cause the mf blew his spot.”
While a second replied: “He’s gonna blow a spot in his debut match, its inevitable.”
A third joked that the scene looked like “The toys in Toy Story when Andy Comes In The Room”.
And a fourth claimed: “Probably couldn’t hear and missed his cue a bit.”
Although another added: “Give him a break. Probably still shaking off the nerves. Going from the Indies/NJPW to WWE is still a huge adjustment.”
Loa previously wrestled as Camacho.
He appeared under the moniker on Superstars and NXT.
His final feud as Camacho came with Adam Rose in 2014.
In 2014 he was released by the WWE.
The following year he joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
In 2016 he signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he would go on to have an eight-year run.
Loa comes from a family of wrestlers.
He is the son of former WWF star Haku.
Tama Tonga, real name Alipate Leone, is his adopted brother.
While Impact Wrestling star Hikuleo is also Loa’s adopted sibling.
The duo previously fought together in NJPW.
