Charlie Woods’ High School Golf Coach Reveals: Following in Tiger Woods’ Footsteps Is ‘Nearly Impossible’
He (Tiger Woods) is really great, as you know, there is always a mountain higher than the mountain.
Let’s look at his era and the era now!
It’s not like we just need to practice hard to achieve what we want! It can also be said that, it takes a bit of innate talent for example.
Charlie Woods’ is still young, and the pressure of being in the shadow of his father can cause a talent to be stunted. In my opinion.. it’s really hard to think that he will be as successful as his father!Charlie Woods’ high school golf coach once revealed that he received a bit of criticism for choosing the legendary golfer’s son to represent the team in a national championship despite him having a higher GPA than some of his teammates.
Harbeck told the paper that there was a 12-player roster at Benjamin’s private school in Palm Beach Gardens.
Only five players made the team that competed in the state championships in November.
There were players with higher averages than Charlie, at 74.3.
But what they didn’t have was experience playing at El Campeon at the Mission Inn resort in Florida, where the tournament was held.
Harbeck explained that in four times he played on the course, Charlie had shot under par three times.
“So I started thinking about it,” he told the paper. “Here’s a kid who’s not afraid of this course.
“I mean, it’s remarkable that he shot 72 on this course.
“It was tough. The fact that he had three or four rounds under par, I said, ‘You know what? I’m going to play him in the state finals.’”
The golf coach said the move “turned some of the other players’ heads a little bit.”
“But sometimes I have to go with my gut,” he said. His decision ultimately paid off as the team won its fourth state championship.
Charlie’s scores of 78 and 76 helped his team lift the trophy.
This gave him more credit than his father, who had never won a state tournament when he was a kid.
