Noughties music legends, The Libertines are back.

The group, which is fronted by Pete Doherty and Carl Barat, are ready to make comeback as they have organised their largest did to date.

Attracting over 25,000 fans, Pete, Carl and fellow band members Gary Powell and John Hassell, will grace the stage at Gunnersbury Park in August.

And announcing the news in their typical style, the group shared a messy clip to TikTok with Carl opening the clip stating, ‘alright guys’.

‘We’re in Gunnersbury Park because we’ve got a big gig here, one of our biggest ever gigs, on August 9th next year.

‘Now Pete has been writing to some of our friends in bands and finding out who is going to be there with us.

‘Has anyone actually seen Pete?’

Gary shook his, as John quipped: ‘Well he’s in the water waiting for his cue, isn’t he?’

Carl replied: ‘Alright, Gary, you’d better give him his cue.’

Gary walked towards a large lake and screamed ‘action’ whilst clapping his hands.

Pete, who famously dated supermodel Kate Moss, then emerged soaked from the lake water.

The singer wore his iconic red Military jacket from the Libertines’ heyday, and flashed his bare chest underneath.

‘Did anyone get back to you on support?’ asked Carl.

Pete added: ‘Yeah, I heard from Morrissey. Yeah, don’t think he’s up for it.’

When asked what Morrissey’s ‘exact words’ were, Pete clarified: ‘His exact words were, ‘No’.’

Standing up in just his jacket and underwear, he said: ‘Real Farmer are up for doing it.

‘Hak Baker is well up for it. The Lambrini Girls! Soft play…’

The band looked quizzical, before they pretended to have heard of the rock group.

Pete then added that fellow indie band Supergrass will be joining them at the gig.

The band shouted ‘alright’, before they told Pete that they would ‘see him next year’.

Pete then headed back into the lake, before he muttered: ‘I’m not going back under.’

Pete formed The Libertines with Carl in London in 1997, but it wasn’t until 2002 that they achieved widespread success with the release of their debut album Up the Bracket.

Amid a public battle with drug and alcohol addiction and in-fighting between members, Pete quit the group in 2004 but they reformed in 2010 and were headliners at Reading and Leeds Festivals that year.

In April 2014, The Libertines then announced they would once again reform for a show at London’s Hyde Park.

They released their fourth album All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade earlier this year, giving the garage rockers their second UK number one.

Back in his 2000s heyday, Pete famously courted national attention when he dated supermodel Kate Moss.

The pair met at Kate’s 31st birthday bash in January 2005, and he declared soon after that he’d ‘really found love’.

Their turbulent romance briefly ended when Pete failed to complete a stint in rehab in Arizona, with Kate saying at the time she had ‘various personal issues I need to address’.

He even drew a portrait of himself and Kate using crayons and his own blood in 2005. Pete also famously scrawled ‘I love Kate 4 eva’ on the windscreen of his Jaguar after leaving court following a drug-related offence.

However, the couple then split for good in 2007 following a series of blazing rows.

Pete previously revealed there was ‘not really one specific incident that caused them to split,’ stating ‘our worlds were not really compatible in the end’.

Throughout the height of his career the star was in constant trouble and was frequently arrested, including a six-month sentence in jail for the possession of cocaine.

However, Pete has been clean since December 2019 and has now settled down in Northern France with his wife Katia and their one-year-old daughter Billie-Mae.

Speaking to Sunday Times Home, Pete discussed not making the ‘smartest financial choices’ during the depth of his addiction, and now he is ‘paying the price’.

He said: ‘Moving to rural Normandy probably saved my life.

‘When I first moved to France I stayed in cities like Marseilles, Paris, Lille and Perpignan, but it was too easy for the dealers to find me.’

Pete went on: ‘Even when we were having No 1 albums and I was making good money, I never saved or invested.

‘The more money I made, the more I spent. Unfortunately I am now paying the price for that — still trying to sort out tax bills from ten years ago.

‘You’ve got to remember that when you’re in the depths of an addiction you don’t make the smartest choices.’

Pete has since made an impressive comeback, and last year revealed he is once again a millionaire.

Inside the insidious Democratic plot to keep Biden in office using harassment tactics out of a spy novel

Democratic allies of Joe Biden plotted a secret harassment campaign to keep a third-party challenger out of the 2024 election in order to ensure his victory, even as polls showed voters wanted another option and there were concerns about the president’s health. Their plan included ‘bird dogging’ members of Congress who would support such an option by sending activists to confront them at their offices. It also details a target harassment campaign against No Labels founder Nancy Jacobson and her husband, Mark Penn, a longtime Democratic operative.
