Rich Paul is on top of the world. He’s one of the most powerful sports agents in the NBA and has been in a relationship with Grammy Award-winning singer Adele since 2021. Adele recently referred to Paul as her husband, prompting CBS’s Gayle King to ask Paul about the same in a recent interview.

“I don’t really talk about my personal life publicly… She’s been great. She’ll agree that we’ve definitely helped each other. We are in a good space, I am happy… We’ve been great for each other. My personal life is not for the media…”

When Gayle King asked him if she could refer to Adele as ‘Mrs. Paul’, Rich gave a mysterious answer.

“You can say whatever you want.”

Adele recently referred to Paul as her husband at a concert when a fan asked her to be with her.

“You can’t marry me. I’m straight, my love, and my husband’s here tonight,” Adele said to a female audience member. When the fan replied, “Can you try?” Adele moved on with a final statement, “No, I don’t want to try. I’m with Rich. You’re crazy, leave me alone.”

Adele also made a cheeky comment when asked about what looked to be a giant diamond ring on her finger in 2022.

“I just love high-end jewelry.”

Paul and Adele make regular public appearances together, including at Miami Heat star Kevin Love’s wedding in 2022. Being married should be immaterial if both love and respect each other. It’s clearly a strong relationship and should be appreciated outside of the confines of people speculating about their marriage.

Rich Paul Fought To Become The Man He Is Today

Rich Paul’s life story is very inspirational. Even though everyone wants to give the credit of Paul’s success to LeBron James, LeBron helped him open doors, but he had to be the one to make it the business it is today. LeBron himself disagrees with that notion.

An agency like Klutch Sports wouldn’t have been established without someone like Paul working on it. If it was so easy, everyone with connections would do it. Paul has even spoken about how Black agents wouldn’t help him and would look down upon him because he was ‘LeBron’s friend.’

“No black agents came to me and said, ‘Rich, let me help you, let me show you. Let me help you understand. What they did was they went into families and talked bad about me. ‘Oh he’s just a kid, he’s just LeBron’s friend… Once LeBron’s done, he’s done.'”

It’s safe to say Paul’s career is no longer tied to the success of LeBron James. Even when LeBron retires from the NBA, Paul will be one of the most influential agents in the league. His brand of honesty with his players and maximizing their interests even when public speculation may hurt them is commendable.

Draymond Green encapsulated why Paul is such a beloved agent perfectly in a byte for 60 Minutes on the special they did for Paul this week.

“Most agents treat athletes as if the athlete works for them. But there’s a multi-billion-dollar business going on around most athletes that they don’t understand. But they don’t have a Rich Paul to teach them.”
