Jennifer Lawrence seeks cover beneath a sizable umbrella during her London outing, following backlash from BAFTA viewers who criticized her for alleged impoliteness towards show host Joanna Lumley.

She brought a touch of Hollywood to Sunday’s BAFTAs, but things soon turned controversial when viewers accused her behaving like a ‘spoiled brat’ at the show.

But hours after igniting ire for her ‘rude and discourteous’ exchange with the ceremony’s host Joanna Lumley, Jennifer Lawrence was up and hitting the streets of London on Monday morning, as she prepared for a busy day of appointments.

As handlers shielded her under umbrellas, the Oscar-winning actress, 27, stepped out onto the rain-soaked capital’s streets in patterned black palazzo pants and a black coat, under which she wore a T-shirt emblazoned with the words ‘Oh My Yes’.

Toting a stylish black leather handbag, the American Hustle star looked fresh-faced and effortlessly stylish as she stepped out for a day of errands that included a scheduled stop at the London studios of KISS FM.

Just hours earlier, the Kentucky-born beauty was branded a ‘spoiled brat’ by some disgruntled viewers, after she appeared to throw shade at host Joanna Lumley, 71.

Joanna, who was presenting the show for the first time after taking over from long-term host Stephen Fry, introduced her as the ‘hottest actress on the planet’ ahead of her presenting the Best British Film gong.

Kicking off the show, she said: ‘Right let’s start giving out some of those beautiful BAFTAs shall we?

‘And we start with the award for Outstanding British Film and who better to kick the whole evening off than the hottest actress on the planet. Soon to be seen in Red Sparrow, it’s the ravishing Jennifer Lawrence.’

They wrote: ‘Never liked Jennifer Lawrence. (Joan Rivers was right when she nicknamed her ‘Miss Arrogance’) and she was so rude to Joanna Lumley last night.

‘Jennifer Lawrence was unnecessarily rude then wasn’t she? #EEBAFTAs didn’t think there was any need for that reply to Joanna Lumley.’
