One Piece Confirms Its Most Overpowered Pirate’s Major Weakness
One of the most overpowered pirates in One Piece has a major weakness that will prove to be his undoing. Trafalgar Law is one of the strongest characters in the series, mostly due to the crazy abilities of his Ope Ope no Mi Devil Fruit, but, contrary to most other pirates like Luffy and Kid, his crew lacks the raw power to be of actual help in any major battle.
Trafalgar D. Law is one of the pirates of the Worst Generation, which include Straw Hat Luffy and Eustass “Captain” Kid, among others. These young upstart pirates have already upset the world balance several times since making their debut in the Grand Line. Luffy, Law, and Kid, are responsible for overthrowing two of the Yonko, the most powerful pirates in the world, Kaido and Big Mom. All three possess amazing Devil Fruit abilities, with Law’s Ope Ope no Mi standing out with his vast range of versatile powers. However, while Luffy and Kid can count on the support of strong members of their crew in battle, Law’s Heart Pirates seem to be a liability instead.
In chapter #1063 of One Piece, Law and his companions find an unpleasant surprise waiting for them after leaving Wano Country. The fearsome Yonko Blackbeard was lying in wait to ambush one of the three captains responsible for freeing Wano from Kaido’s tyranny. Unfortunately, Law wandered into Blackbeard’s trap and is now under assault from Teach and three of his Titanic Captains. While Law could be, perhaps, able to fight equally against Blackbeard, he is totally outnumbered in this battle. The three Blackbeard Pirates all have powerful Devil Fruit abilities, while Law’s crew has never shown any particular fighting prowess.
Law’s Pirate Crew Is a Liability, Not A Resource
The most tragic outcome would be if the Heart Pirates end up being a hindrance for their captain, and Law is killed or captured while trying to protect them. This already happened in Wano: Law’s subordinates were captured and their captain had to offer himself as a hostage to set them free. During the battle for Onigashima, the Heart Pirates took on a support role, while the Straw Hats and the Kid Pirates were on the frontlines. Among the named members of the crew, the only one who seems to have good combat prowess is Jean Bart, a former captain who was enslaved by the Celestial Dragons before joining the crew. As a member of the Mink Tribe, the navigator, Bepo also has the potential to become pretty strong, but he still has not shown any outstanding feats.
Law’s awakened Devil Fruit abilities made him capable of taking out a powerful Yonko such as Big Mom. The Ope Ope no Mi is one of the most overpowered Devil Fruits in the series, and Law possesses powerful Haki as well. However, the Heart Pirates are a major liability, because they lack the strength to be of real support to their captain. The battle against Blackbeard will likely end in a tragic way for Trafalgar Law, proving that even the most overpowered character in One Piece has a major weakness that can easily be exploited.
