Jennifer Lawrence headed to Tuscany over the weekend to watch friend Laura Simpson tie the knot
Jennifer Lawrence stepped out of the spotlight over the weekend to attend the intimate wedding of her best friend Laura Simpson.
Lawrence was among 25 guests who attended the event at the Borgo Stomennano Hotel in Tuscany, Italy. The X-Men: Apocalypse star, who wore a lilac slip dress, was spotted spending time at the event with Los Angeles bartender Kevin “Boosh” Burtch – a friend of the newlyweds who likely walked down the aisle with Lawrence and didn’t appear to be a date, according to a source.
Ahead of the wedding, the actress, 26, was seen arriving at the local airport in Florence by private jet on Thursday at 9 a.m. The Oscar winner exited the terminal carrying a pillow with a female friend and another gentleman.
Lawrence wasn’t the only star at the wedding – her close friend Aziz Ansari also attended the event alongside his brother, Aniz Ansari.
Lawrence’s Winter’s Bone costar Lauren Sweetser also attended the nuptials.
After the ceremony, both Simpson and her husband Steve Ternosky posted photos of the big day on Instagram.
“Hey f——, I got married, look at this s—. #undertheternoskysun,” Simpson wrote alongside a photo of herself and Ternosky walking down the aisle, through a trail of flower petals.
Ternosky uploaded a photo of himself and his new wife standing posing as the sun set.
“Meet my wife @lauragram,” he wrote, adding the hashtag “#undertheternoskysun.”
In another clip, Simpson twirled and danced as the guests looked on.
Lawrence seemed to keep a low profile at the end, and was not featured in any social media photos.
Simpson and Lawrence’s frienship goes back nearly 10 years.
Simpson accompanied Lawrence to the 2014 Oscars, and the two BFFs were spotted walking hand in hand at the event. Simpson also famously caught her pal when Lawrence took a tumble on the red carpet.

Simpson revealed in a subsequent MySpace post that she and the American Hustle actress met nine years ago “at an event where we both didn’t know a single person.”
“We hit it off over a mutual respect for Chandler Bing, and we’ve been eating pizza together ever since.”
