‘After a few seconds of seeing it struggle to get back in the water, my husband took charge to try to help it,’ said a woman who watched the rescue unfold.
As the men edge it closer to the sea, the footage shows the deadly Mako shark lashing out at its rescuers in scenes reminiscent of Jaws, whipping its huge tail and threatening them with its teeth.
They back off for a moment as the shark flails around on the shore, while gathered crowds can be heard screaming in the background.
‘Look at them freakin’ teeth!’ a woman behind the camera yells as the snarling shark bare a predatory grin.

He ignores her and carefully tilts the shark, which had been stuck on its side, into the correct position – seemingly with no concern for his own safety.

Witnesses said the shark had become stuck on the sand after they saw it travelling at a ‘fast speed’ towards the shore.
‘We were sitting on the beach just having a good time and my buddy just said, ‘Look out in the water there, man.’ I see that fin and I was like, yeah, it was two or three sandbars away from us,’ Josh Fey, one of the rescuers reportedly told WKRG.
