After several weeks of putting up the ruse that his health was failing him fast, Nick became to first, aside from Nikki, to know what Victor was really up to. He was trying to figure out which one of his family members, or trusted employees, would use his failing health to make a powerplay at Newman. He finally confessed his scheme to his children, and promptly fired Nate! Nate tried to argue Victor should be sent to a facility for treatment and that Victoria should step in as CEO, falling right into Victor’s trap.
Throughout the ordeal, Nikki’s new assistant Claire has been there to help her and listen. She also took a mysterious call from her Aunt Jordan, mentioning she thought she’d have more time, but was making progress.
Coming up, Nikki tells Claire, “You just focus on taking care of your aunt. I know how important she is to you.” Claire says, “There’s something else I should probably tell you about her…” What isn’t she telling Nikki about her Aunt Jordan?
With their family shocked by Victor’s recent ruse, Nikki rethinks her plans of visiting her sister. ”Nikki tells Victor, “Maybe I shouldn’t leave town at all this weekend with all this family upheaval.” Victor wants her to take the trip, “You’ve been looking forward to seeing your sister Casey for a long time. You haven’t seen each other for a while.”
Finally, in a dark house, Nikki frantically tries to get a line out on the dial phone and whispers, “Please, please, someone help!” Claire creeps up and stabs Nikki in the neck with a syringe.
