Cole Palmer has revealed how his former Manchester City team-mates reacted to his cheeky attempt to listen in on a set-piece huddle during the thrilling 4-4 at Stamford Bridge.
A clip of the Chelsea star went viral during Sunday’s clash, which saw him hilariously tried to sneak in on a group huddle as they discussed a free-kick in the dying moments.
As they talked through their options, a nonchalant Palmer could be seen strolling over before standing behind Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias to listen in to what Jack Grealish had to say.
Erling Haaland quickly noticed Palmer’s antics and rushed over to push him away from the group in comical fashion.
And now the forward, who earned his first senior call up to the England squad this week, has looked back and laughed at the moment.

While on England duty, Palmer was asked about the incident and if he could hear what was being discussed by the City players. Palmer said: ‘No I didn’t hear anything, I was just having a laugh to be honest.’
Palmer then claimed one of his former team-mates saw the funny side of his antics while the rest were less than impressed.
Palmer continued: ‘I think Erling [Haaland] found it pretty funny, I don’t think the others did.’
It was Palmer’s first appearance against City since securing a £47million move away from the Treble winners in favour of West London during the summer transfer window.
Palmer managed to score a stoppage-time penalty in the eight-goal thriller in what has been a fantastic start to the campaign for him personally.
The 21-year-old star now has four goals and two assists in the league since moving to Chelsea
