Stephen Curry Reveals The 3 NBA Legends He’d Have Liked To Play With

Stephen Curry picked three of the greatest players in NBA history. Curry also revealed whether he’d rather be physically dominant or a high-flyer.

Stephen Curry has had some truly incredible teammates during his time in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors, but which past legends would he have loved to play with? Well, he answered that question on the latest episode of Dubs Talk.

“My top three obviously, (Michael) Jordan, [Shaquille O’Neal], and I’d probably say Hakeem Olajuwon,” Curry said. “I’d like to play with all three of those guys because I think Jordan, you just wanna see it up close and personal, and then I think a pick-and-roll with me and Hakeem or me and Shaq would be pretty much unstoppable.”

I think Curry speaks for everyone when he says he’d have wanted to see Michael Jordan up and close. The aura around the Chicago Bulls icon is unlike any other and you’d give anything to experience it for yourself.

As for on the court, Curry and Jordan on the same team would be incredible. You would have two of the deadliest scorers in league history together, and we saw just how terrifying it was to have Curry and Kevin Durant on the same team. I don’t think there’d be any game plan that’d work to slow down these two.

As for Curry with Shaquille O’Neal or Hakeem Olajuwon, I completely agree with him when he says the pick-and-roll would be unstoppable. O’Neal and Steph, in particular, would be an absolute nightmare for any defense to deal with. The big man agrees with that assessment as well, as O’Neal picked Curry over Jordan and LeBron to form the greatest duo ever with him.

Stephen Curry Answered Whether He’d Rather Be Physically Dominant Or High-Flying

Curry has done what few have managed to do over the course of NBA history, which is to dominate on the court despite not being physically dominant or a high-flyer. The 35-year-old was asked during this episode to make his pick on which of the two he’d rather be.

“Probably physically dominating just because it’s such the opposite of my experience on the court,” Curry said. “I’ve dunked a couple of times but to have somebody like, they call it ‘Mouse in the House’ and you can just post up and understand as soon as I catch it, this guy behind me has no chance. That’d be an out-of-body experience, for sure. So I’ve seen the Shaq highlights, I want to break some backboards every once in a while. That’d be fun.”

Curry breaking backboards would have certainly been quite the sight. While it’d have been fun to be a high-flyer, we have seen so many of them over the years. When it comes to truly physically dominant players, though, O’Neal and Wilt Chamberlain are the only ones that come to mind, which makes it a bit more special.

Stephen Curry Named The Two Ringless Players He’d Give One Of His Rings To

Curry has now well and truly established himself as one of the all-time greats. He has won four championships, a Finals MVP, and two MVPs while averaging 24.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game for his career.

While the nine-time All-Star has plenty of silverware on his resume, that’s not the case for every great player, with some failing to ever get over the line. Curry was asked which ringless player he’d give one of his rings to and he named two, Steve Nash and Reggie Miller.

Miller and Nash were the two players that Curry modeled his game after, with the former being his favorite player growing up, so the picks made perfect sense.
