Exceptional Nigerian lady bags Economics degree with 4.95/5.00CGPA, wins ₦500,000 as best student award

An exceptional Nigerian lady named Opeyemi Oyelakin has bagged an Economics degree with an outstanding 4.95/5.00 cumulative grade point from Bowen University, Nigeria. She was awarded a cash prize of 500,000 naira for emerging as the overall best student of the institution.

Opeyemi bagged her bachelor’s degree in Economics at Bowen University, Iwo Nigeria with an outstanding 4.95 over a possible 5.00 cumulative grade point. She won a total of nineteen awards for her remarkable performance.

She shared her achievement of graduating with an impressive grade on Twitter stating that it is a fulfillment of her dream. Aside from the awards she received, Opeyemi was also elected a one-day vice chancellor of the university and she is the only female to ever assume that position.

”Aside being the first elected female one day Vice Chancellor in my University, I was also announced as the Overall Best Graduating Student of Bowen University on November 4, 2023, with a Cgpa of 4.95/5.0 and 19 awards to my name. God Did,” she said.

Opeyemi won the Best Graduating Student in the university’s Economics Department, the Best Graduating Student in the College of Management and Social Sciences, and the Best Graduating Female of the university 2022/2023 session. She was also presented with a cash gift worth five hundred thousand naira.

She said the feat is a testament to the hard work, smart work, diligence, right circle of friends, growth mindset, and God’s grace that carried her through Bowen University. Aside from being an excellent student, she also participated in extracurricular activities.

Opeyemi said she represented the university nationally and Internationally with awards and accolades. She stated that she was not only the first female Vice chancellor but the first from her department and faculty with several newspaper recognitions for her works.
