Paris Hilton revisits THAT infamous photo op when Lindsay Lohan crashed her night out with Britney Spears in 2006: ‘It was kind of awkward’

They were three of the most popular celebrities of the day, and their highly publicized night out was recently featured in the buzzy documentary Framing Britney Spears.

On a recent episode of her podcast This Is Paris, famous heiress Paris Hilton discussed the now-infamous paparazzi shot of herself and friend Britney Spears along with Lindsay Lohan during a girls’ night in 2006.

Hilton, now 42, remembered the moment as ‘just weird’ and ‘very stressful,’ especially since Lohan was not expressly invited to join them in her car at the time.

Feels like 2006! Paris Hilton recreated the moment Lindsay Lohan

Let’s get this show on the road! Hilton and ‘Britney’ shared a warm smile, while ‘Queen Elizabeth’ appeared mortified

On a recent episode of her podcast This Is Paris: Paris Hilton discussed the now-infamous paparazzi shot of herself and friend Britney Spears along with Lindsay Lohan from 2006

‘Oh my god, the amount of times I’ve seen this photo, the memes. Wow, brings back memories,’ Paris reminisced about the November 27th, 2006 snap.

‘That was a night that Britney and I went out, and we were at the Beverly Hills Hotel, at our friend’s party, and we were deciding to leave to go home. We were walking to the car and all of as suddenly got swarmed by a tons of paparazzi. As we got to the car, that’s when Lindsay came up. It was kind of awkward because at this point we are just having some drama.’

The drama, of course, had to do with Paris and Lindsay’s ‘frenemy’-type relationship, which at the time involved accusations from LiLo that The Simple Life star had hit her at a club.

Looking back: Hilton, now 40, remembered the moment as ‘just weird’ and ‘very stressful,’ especially since Lohan was not expressly invited to join them in her car at the time

‘As we were getting into the car, a paparazzi screamed at me, “Is it true that you hit Lindsay?!” And at that moment all of a sudden, I see Lindsay walking towards us, and I said “Why don’t you just ask her?”‘ Paris recalled.

‘And Lindsay said something like, “No, Paris would never hit me, I’ve known her since I’m 15.” It was basically just, not admitting what she did. It was quite awkward to be asked that question, and then it was just weird how that whole thing happened,’ she continued.

‘All of a sudden, I looked over, and she’s in my car,’ Hilton then added. ‘We weren’t getting along, so I was polite. Lots of flashes, it was hard to get out there because I couldn’t see with all the cameras and people were literally falling on top of the car trying to get the shot. It was very stressful to drive in that situation.’

She went on to comment on how the photo was ‘everywhere’ the next day, and how the media started ‘inventing stories’ about the girls’ night out, when they ‘had literally no idea it was just Britney and I’… and not Lohan.

The moment was also rehashed in the recent Hulu/FX documentary Framing Britney Spears, which unpacks Britney’s conservatorship dispute and the many factors that contributed to her very publicized mental health problems in 2007.

The photo of her out with Paris and Lindsay, according to the documentary, added to the rumors at the time that she was a wild child, even though she had two small children at home.

Clearly, the added attention from Lindsay ‘crashing’ their night added fuel to the fire.

As for how Hilton feels about Lohan now, she claimed in the podcast that although they had a fair amount of previous beef, it’s all water under the bridge.

‘Back in the day we were actually close friends, and then she did a couple things that really hurt me and just betrayed my trust and caused a lot of drama,’ Paris stated. ‘So we weren’t friends anymore, and it was kind of like this on and off friendship.’

‘But when I think about it now, we were just so young, immature. It’s just kind of like high school drama, especially in the LA scene,’ she added. ‘And then also having to live it out in public with the media just constantly trying to stir things up and make things even worse than they were. It’s hard with any friendship and, back then, the media really enjoyed having girls feud with each other.’

Toward the end of the podcast, Hilton ended things on a high note, saying of Lohan: ‘I hope she’s doing great and sending her well wishes. That is the truth.’
