And just like that, Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are officially divorced.
Mere weeks after both filed for divorce from each other (and two months after their separation came to light), the two are officially divorced in one of the quickest A-list divorces we’ve ever seen. And the speed of it all may have to do with Grande’s new romance with Ethan Slater.
According to TMZ, since Grande and Gomez signed a pre-nup, it was quite cut-and-dry with the divorce proceedings. Gomez will receive “$1,250,000 tax-free and half of the net proceeds from the sale [of] his and Grande’s L.A. home.” Along with that, Grande will cover a percentage of Gomez’s attorney’s fees.

Now, the news of this comes days after the sweetener singer’s reported living situation hit the news cycle, and it’s made fans speculate why this divorce was so quick.
Earlier this month, insiders alleged that the rumors about Slater and Grande living together were true. They told US Weekly, “Ethan informed his friends and soon-to-be ex-wife that he’s living with Ariana full-time in New York.”

With Grande and Slater’s controversial relationship heating up, it’s not too much of a shock that she and Gomez’s divorce proceedings ended in the blink of an eye.
Grande and Slater met on the set of the long-awaited, upcoming film Wicked, bonding a close friendship with him, his estranged wife Lilly Jay, and their newborn son. Grande and Slater’s representatives claim that their romance didn’t start until months after both of them were separated from their respective partners. However, others have claimed that some cheating may have been at play.
